24-Hour Emergency Septic Service

Septic backup, overflow, or alarm? Flow-Rite Septic Solutions provides 24-hour emergency septic service, including septic pumping, troubleshooting, and repairs when needed.

You don’t need to know what’s wrong before calling. Tell Flow-Rite what is happening, and we’ll help determine the next step.

Open 24 hours. Call to discuss emergency service availability.

Need Help With a Septic Emergency?

Wastewater rising in a shower, toilets backing up, sewage surfacing outside, or a septic alarm sounding after hours can mean your septic system needs urgent attention. Stop using water, avoid contact with sewage, and call Flow-Rite Septic Solutions..
Our septic pumping services can remove accumulated sludge, solids, and wastewater when pumping is appropriate. However, not every septic emergency requires pumping. A blocked line, clogged filter, failed pump, electrical problem, or drainfield issue may require a different solution.
You don’t need to diagnose the problem yourself. Tell Flow-Rite what you’re seeing, and we’ll help determine what type of emergency septic service may be needed.

Septic Backup or Alarm?

Call Flow-Rite Septic Solutions to describe the problem and discuss emergency service availability.

Open 24 hours.

Please tell us your property address, what is happening, and whether sewage is backing up indoors or appearing outside.

When Should You Call for Emergency Septic Service?

Indoor Sewage Backups

If wastewater is backing up through toilets, tubs, showers, or floor drains, stop using water and call Flow-Rite. Keep people and pets away from any sewage or contaminated water.

Outdoor Sewage Overflow

Wastewater surfacing near your septic tank or drainfield needs professional attention. Avoid the affected area and keep children and pets away from the wastewater.

Septic System Alarms

A septic alarm can indicate high water, a pump problem, or another system issue. Call Flow-Rite even if your toilets and drains still appear to be working normally.

Multiple Slow Drains

One slow drain may be a plumbing problem, but several slow drains combined with gurgling toilets, sewage odors, or other septic symptoms can indicate a larger issue. Tell Flow-Rite what you’re experiencing so we can help determine the next step.

What Should You Do Before Emergency Septic Service Arrives?

Reduce Water Use

Pause laundry, dishwasher cycles, baths, showers, and other unnecessary water use. Don’t repeatedly flush toilets or run faucets to see whether the backup has cleared.

Avoid Sewage Contact

Stay away from sewage and contaminated water, and keep children and pets out of affected areas. If sewage has entered your home, contact your local health department for cleanup guidance.

Leave Septic Components Alone

Keep septic lids closed and don’t enter a tank, lean into an opening, or attempt electrical repairs yourself. Tell Flow-Rite what you’re seeing and leave troubleshooting and repairs to a professional.

Does a Septic Emergency Always Require Pumping?

No. Emergency septic pumping may be the right solution in some situations, but a backup, alarm, or overflow does not automatically mean your septic tank needs to be pumped.

When Emergency Septic Pumping May Help

Pumping may be appropriate when excess solids or an overloaded tank are contributing to the problem. Septic pumping removes the contents of the tank and may restore capacity, but it’s still important to determine why the problem occurred.
A septic tank normally contains liquid, so seeing liquid in the tank doesn’t necessarily mean emergency pumping is needed. The liquid level, solids buildup, wastewater flow, and condition of other septic components all matter.

When Septic Repairs or Troubleshooting May Be Needed

Pumping won’t repair a broken pipe, restore a failed pump, clear every blockage, or correct a malfunctioning drainfield.
Our septic repairs and troubleshooting can help identify component and wastewater-flow problems. Depending on what we find, the appropriate next step may be septic pumping, filter service, pump or component repair, or further evaluation.

What Can You Expect From Flow-Rite?

The service your septic system needs depends on the symptoms, system conditions, and property access. Flow-Rite starts by understanding what's happening so we can determine the appropriate next step.

Septic Pumping
Let Flow-Rite know when the problem started, which fixtures are affected, and whether you have an active sewage backup, overflow, or septic alarm. We'll also discuss emergency service availability and timing.
Depending on the problem, Flow-Rite may evaluate accessible components, liquid levels, filters, pumps, and visible signs of damage or system failure. Let us know if your tank location is unknown, lids are buried, or access to the system is restricted.
We'll explain what we find and what we recommend. If septic pumping is appropriate, we'll tell you. If the problem appears to require troubleshooting or repair instead, we'll explain the next step before proceeding with the proposed work.

We'll explain what was completed and whether there are any restrictions, repairs, inspections, or other follow-up work to consider. Flow-Rite also provides septic inspection services when a closer evaluation of the system's condition is needed.

Did Your Septic Problem Start During Flooding?

Tell Flow-Rite if the septic tank area or drainfield is flooded or the ground around your system is saturated. These conditions can change the appropriate response.

Do not assume pumping is appropriate during flooded or saturated drainfield conditions. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency advises against pumping a septic tank while the drainfield is flooded or saturated because an emptied tank can potentially float and damage connected piping.

Reduce water use and call Flow-Rite for guidance. Pumping a septic tank does not make saturated soil able to accept wastewater.

What Should You Tell Flow-Rite When Calling?

Start with your property address and what’s happening. Share whatever you know about:

  • Which fixtures are affected and when the symptoms started.
  • Sewage backing up indoors or surfacing outside.
  • Septic alarms or recent power outages.
  • Flooding or unusually heavy water use.
  • When the septic tank was last pumped or inspected.
  • Where the septic tank is located, if known.
  • Gates, buried lids, soft ground, or other access restrictions.

Don’t worry if you don’t have your septic records or don’t know where the tank is located. Tell Flow-Rite what you know and what you’re unsure about.

Emergency Septic Service FAQs

Yes, Flow-Rite is open 24 hours for emergency septic service. Call us at (253) 442-5222 to discuss your situation and confirm availability and timing.

If you have an active septic backup, call Flow-Rite directly at (253) 442-5222. You can also request service through our online form, but submitting the form does not confirm an emergency appointment.

That's okay. Let Flow-Rite know that you're not sure where the tank is located. Existing septic records may help, and we can discuss what may be needed to locate and access your system.

Call Flow-Rite first and we'll let you know what preparation is needed. Please don't remove the tank lid yourself. If you know whether your access lids or risers are visible or buried, let us know when you call.

Please secure your pets and move any obstacles that could block access, as long as it's safe to do so. Keep vehicles off the drainfield and let Flow-Rite know about gates, narrow driveways, soft ground, or anything else that could affect access.

Let Flow-Rite know when your septic tank was last pumped and what was found during that service. If the symptoms never went away or have already returned, there may be another issue that needs to be checked.

No. Flow-Rite's septic pumping service does not include cleaning up sewage inside your home. Indoor sewage contamination needs separate cleanup and should be handled carefully. You can also contact your local health department for cleanup guidance.

Flow-Rite does not recommend using chemical drain cleaners in a septic system. They can interfere with the bacteria in your septic tank and may not fix the actual cause of the backup. If you've already used a chemical drain cleaner, just let us know.

Yes. If your septic system has a pump or other electrical components, a power outage can affect how it operates. Let Flow-Rite know about the outage, reduce your water use, and leave any electrical troubleshooting to a professional.

Call Flow-Rite and let us know what's happening and what was found during the previous service. If the problem keeps coming back, we may need to do additional troubleshooting or repairs rather than simply pumping the tank again.

Our septic was backed up on the weekend of all times they came out within 4 hours of calling them. Turns out before we got this house my boyfriends dad had called out a different company that drained one tank for 1,500. They pointed that out to us and did both tanks for less. I would highly recommend this company

A smaller family owned and family-run business. It's a father and daughter team and they are amazing. The best service we've ever had. We had a septic emergency (pump died and tank became overfull) and they came out within the same day and they did not overcharge us. Their prices were beyond fair and they were so honest and they did not overcharge! They also gave us information on how to replace our pump and where to go get one for a good price. She even rewired and prepared all the electrical for the new pump. We will be using them every and any time we have a septic need. We now have no problems and I would suggest and recommend that you give them a try to.
